Purple Passion is a beautiful embroidery. The piece is worked in silks and metals. The leaves have been gilded then stitched with silk, and accented with small spangles. The stems and outline of the urn are Lizardine and silk gimp. The blackwork on the urn is worked in one strand of silk floss and #1 Japan gold.

The techniques are satin, couching, chipping, attaching spangles, attaching check purl, a blackwork pattern, and a darning pattern.
