Magnolias: A Design Gift from Fumiko

Fumiko has designed a branch of Japanese magnolia blossoms for our study. Magnolia kobus is the focal point in many Japanese gardens, as well as in art. It is admired for its rather elongated petals with dark rose red petal backs. The petals open into cup shaped flowers.

Fumiko honors us with this design. She fosters the study of Rozashi in America. She designed this beautiful piece for the American students through my presentation.

The stitches, threads, color and design are traditional to Rozashi. The threads are silk. The kit comes complete with ro attached to the frame, a special needle, all threads, sticking paste and illustrated instruction booklet.
